Before you start
What Squarespace asks for.
- Squarespace runs scripts in code blocks on its Core, Plus and Advanced plans, and on some older plans. On the Basic plan the snippet is kept but does nothing.
Add the reviews to Squarespace
Steps last checked on 2 October 2026.
- 1Find your business in the builder above, choose how the widget looks, create the free account and copy the snippet.
- 2Edit the page or post.
- 3Click Add block, or the + icon, where the widget should appear, then click Code.
- 4Click the pencil icon on the block and paste the snippet into the text field. Leave Type on HTML and Display Source off.
- 5Save the page.
What to expect
- While you are logged in, Squarespace may hide embedded scripts for security. If the widget is missing, look at the page in a private browser window, where you are a visitor.
Google reviews on Squarespace: what works
Check your plan before you build
The plan is the one thing that stops this on Squarespace. If yours does not run scripts in code blocks, the widget will not show, and the alternative is to type a few reviews into the page as ordinary text.
Give it a section of its own
A carousel of reviews reads best across the full width of a section, between two sections of your own content. Under the opening section of the home page is a good first place.
Put a second one where visitors decide
The same snippet can go on more than one page. Next to a booking or contact form, a few reviews answer the visitor's last doubt.
What the free plan covers
ReTestimonial's free plan brings in up to 25 Google reviews at a time, from 1 location, and shows a small “Powered by ReTestimonial” badge. You do not sign in to Google: you find your business by name, and the builder reads its public reviews.
Which reviews show, how new ones arrive and what the paid plans add are answered on the Google reviews widget page.
How these steps were checked
Checked against Squarespace's own help pages.
The steps were checked for a testimonial widget from the same builder. A Google reviews widget goes onto the page with the same kind of snippet, so the steps do not change.
